Mid-Hudson region gets 8 new cannabis retail licenses – The Daily Freeman

ALBANY, N.Y. — Eight new adult-use cannabis dispensary licenses have been granted in the Mid-Hudson Region and were among a total of 114 approved Friday by New York Cannabis Control Board.

The dispensary licenses were issued for businesses based in Ulster, Dutchess, Columbia, Greene and Orange counties, with one only identified as based in the “Mid-Hudson” region. Licenses approved in the region are not required to operate in their home counties and can be used anywhere regionally.

A board spokesperson said they did not know whether any of the eight new licensees plan to open dispensaries in Ulster or Dutchess counties.

The total licenses granted included 45 for retail dispensaries and 31 for microbusinesses, Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office said in a press release. In addition to the eight dispensary licenses, five adult-use cultivator licenses were issued to businesses in Ulster, Dutchess, Columbia and Orange counties, along with four adult-use processor licenses in Dutchess, Columbia and Orange counties and two adult-use microbusiness licenses in Orange and Greene counties.
