Most events for the cannabis community are geared toward adults. Arizona Natural Concepts Dispensary is trying to dispel this by hosting the family-friendly Cannaval in its parking lot on Friday, April 5.
Marketing director Dennarae Lethem said the dispensary started the event three years ago for its longtime customers.
“We wanted to do a family-friendly event. We have a lot of customers who are repeat customers, who we’ve gotten to know over the past six years of business — parents, grandparents,” Lethem said.
“We can see our customers, our regulars, invite the community out and just make it a fun environment for everybody.”
In the first two Cannavals, 400 to 500 people attended.
Lethem said the dispensary is trying to offer more events and take part in other activities for the cannabis community.
“We go to a lot of the events put on by event producers,” Lethem said.
“We sponsor them or attend them as vendors. We’ve done a few of our own little events. We had a car show in January for our six-year anniversary. That was a family event, too. We had a lot of our customers bring out their custom models and did a competition with voting. We gave our
