The Bulldogs will take on the Tigers in Auburn on Saturday for what will be Georgia’s first top-10 matchup of the season. Here are the top stories to come out of Georgia’s practices this week.
Natrez Patrick returning from suspension
For the first time since Sept. 30, Georgia will have inside linebacker Natrez Patrick on the field come Saturday. In early October, Patrick was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession, the junior’s second drug-related charge since arriving at Georgia.
In accordance with the University’s student-athlete handbook, Patrick was suspended from playing in Georgia’s next four games: Vanderbilt, Missouri, Florida and South Carolina.
In his absence, Reggie Carter, Juwan Taylor and Monty Rice have filled in for Patrick. In the first five games of the season, before his suspension, Patrick tallied 17 tackles for the Bulldogs.
Nick Chubb closing in on Bo Jackson
While Georgia running back Nick Chubb is currently the No. 5 rusher in SEC history, he will likely jump to No. 4 overall against Auburn on Saturday.
Rather fittingly, running back Chubb is poised to pass is Auburn great Bo Jackson.
