Vallejo City Council to rehear V-Town Farms appeal, with conditions – Vallejo Times-Herald

The Vallejo City Council has a lot on its proverbial plate next week, including a closed meeting to discuss “anticipated litigation,” the V-Town Farms cannabis dispensary appeal, participatory budgeting, and a weighty agenda of other budgetary items.

The planning commission’s decision to allow the V-Town Farms cannabis dispensary to open in the old Food 4 Less building on Sonoma Boulevard was appealed by another dispensary in town. The appeal went before the council in its last session, which came to tie votes for every motion regarding the appeal. The council will now re-examine the appeal after certain conditions were added.

These conditions include the promise that no cultivation will occur on-site, no expansion of the cannabis business will occur on the site without written approval from both the city and the state, business owners will make sure that the property is “graffiti free” and undergoing on-going property maintenance requirements. Also, chain link fencing on the property will be replaced with “new fencing” that the planning commission OKs, outdoor trash receptacles will meet City of Vallejo standards, signage will be updated to reflect city codes, trees will be planted and no trees will be removed without planning division approval.
