PLEASANT HILL — Two men suspected in the first killing here since 2012 have been arrested after authorities in Arizona chased them down, police said Tuesday.
Keith Jones, 29, and Luther Lee, 24, were arrested Monday and were being held in New Mexico and Arizona, respectively, as they await extradition. Both are suspected of murder in the death of 23-year-old Pleasant Hill resident Oshry Elor on Saturday. Police will ask prosecutors to seek special circumstances in the murder charges against Jones.
Police described the killing as the outcome of a marijuana deal that turned into a robbery in the 2100 block of Norse Drive around 11:15 p.m. Jones and Lee also are both suspected of robbery and conspiracy.
According to Pleasant Hill police, detectives identified Lee, of Columbus, Ga., early as an accessory in the planned marijuana deal. Investigators later found out the two were traveling east through Arizona on Interstate 40 and perhaps en route to Georgia.
Pleasant Hill detectives contacted the Arizona Department of Public Safety, which put out a bulletin for Arizona State Troopers to be on
