Samantha White is doing her part for preserve the environment and help people smell a little better along the way.
White is the founder of ReWash, a soap “refillery” that will open a fixed location by the end of the month the former Nancy’s Home Cooking location, 3133 N. High St. in Clintonville.
She knew Clintonville was the right spot for such a business centering on “social responsibility.”
“Clintonville is very progressive, forward thinking,” she said. “A lot of people already do curbside composting.”
The foundation of the business is soaps and detergents free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates, White said. The other part is that the liquid goods are dispensed for 50 cents to $1, depending on the product, she said.
That means less plastic, White said.
“Plastic is going to outlive all of us,” she said. “It’s in fish. So anything you can do to leave the world a little better of a place is everyone’s responsibility.”
