Two teens accused of shooting to death a Berry College student are facing additional charges of armed robbery and drug possession.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Ricket Damon Carter, 19, of 2113 Seventh St. in Columbus; and Troy Jamal Cokley, 19, of 712 Garden Lake Drive in Riverdale, were in the Floyd County Jail without bond Sunday night.
The two are charged with the Saturday morning murder of Joseph P. McDaniel of Columbus, a Berry business student who lived at the Summerstone Apartments off Old Summerville Road.
Police said Carter and Cokley, who knew McDaniel, used a gun to rob him of marijuana in his apartment and then shot him. They were arrested on felony murder warrants Saturday night in Columbus.
They each were additionally charged Sunday with the felonies possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of marijuana.
