Professional, good, decent and secure are just some of the words Steve Francis uses to describe the new marijuana dispensary he plans to open soon in Memphis.
The shop, located at the site of the former Mom’s Kitchen downtown, is being renovated for the business’ grand opening, likely in late July. The retail outlet, called Revive, will have both recreational and medicinal marijuana for sale to the public.

“This is not going to be a dope den. This is going to be a professionally run facility that Memphis can be proud of,” Francis said. “And I’ve never smoked a joint in my life, so this is really all about the medical part for me.”
Francis, who owns Country Smokehouse in Almont and a market in Capac, said he’s been in the medical marijuana business for a half-dozen years now. He hosts a growing operation in northern Michigan and has the product used in his meats by an out-of-state firm.
