A lieutenant and chief deputy from the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia were arrested Saturday in Gulf Shores and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.
According to police, just after midnight the Gulf Shores Police Department responded to 1010 West Beach Blvd. to investigate a complaint of a person urinating in the parking lot near a black Ford truck with a Georgia license plate.
Policer say officers encountered Marcus Gordon Greene, 44 and Marcus Conrad Richards, 27 at the location. They also located a small amount of partially smoked marijuana on a 2017 Ford F-150, police say.
Officers then conducted a search of the truck, which was determined to be an unmarked patrol vehicle, and located a clear jar containing approximately 12 grams of marijuana, police say.
Greene and Richards were both arrested and transported to the city Detention Facility without incident. Both were released on bond the following day after a hearing before a magistrate.
