Commonwealth Alternative Care Brockton opens for medical, receives recreational license – Enterprise News

BROCKTON – Five years after receiving its license to be a medical cannabis retailer, Commonwealth Alternative Care Brockton has opened its doors and begun serving patients.

The store, located at 1090 West Chestnut St., had its grand opening Saturday morning, which was attended by several city councilors and some of the store’s brand partners.

Commonwealth Alternative Care Brockton, which is owned by TILT Holdings, sells everything from marijuana flowers and pre-rolled joints to vapes and edibles, offering a wide range of brands.

“I could not be more excited to finally be open here in Brockton,” TILT Holdings CEO Gary Santo said during a welcome speech.

Ward 3 City Councilor Dennis Eaniri spoke at the event, saying the new store – which is in his ward – will help people like himself who struggle with chronic pain. He said he had just received a license to purchase marijuana for medical purposes. 

“I may be a medical marijuana user myself,” he said.

Last week, Commonwealth Alternative Care Brockton was granted a final recreational marijuana retailer license. The dispensary still needs to have a final inspection done, but Santo expects to open for recreational sales in the next month or two.
